Have you been led to believe that all fat is public enemy #1?
Is your brain depleted of healthy fats?
Think again…not only do you need certain fats, but your brain and your heart depend on them because the body can’t produce them itself.
Omega-3 fatty acids are the good fats that are synonymous with being heart-healthy – but did you know that they’ve also been shown to promote healthy skin and optimum brain function among many other things?
Because Forever Living Products is dedicated to your health and well-being, Forever Arctic-Sea® Super Omega–3 (Item #039) nutritional supplements combine the essential Omega-3 and Omega-9 fatty acids that provide balanced nutrition to support your body.
There are two types of Essential Fatty Acids, or EFAs: Omega-3 fats and Omega-6 fats. Omega-6 fats occur in relative abundance in the foods we eat.
However, the American diet is markedly deficient in Omega-3 fats. Omega-9 is the unsaturated fatty acid found in vegetable products, like olive oil – which may be partly responsible for the benefits seen in Mediterranean diets.
Recommendations for consuming Omega-3 fatty acids have come from the American Heart Association, the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, the National Cholesterol Education Program, and the American Association’s Nutritional Committee.
The Journal of the American Heart Association reports that people who have elevated triglycerides may need 2 to 4 grams of Omega-3 fatty acids per day provided as a supplement. They report that the 1 gram/day dose recommended for patients with existing heart-related issues may be more than can readily be achieved through diet alone.
EFAs are not corollary only with cardiovascular health. These nutrients make up the majority of the protective membrane that surrounds each and every one of our cells.
This is why they may provide protective functions not only for our hearts but for our brains as well. EFAs are found in high concentrations in the brain; they aid in the transmission of nerve impulses and are needed for the normal development and functioning of the brain.
A deficiency of essential fatty acids may lead to an impaired ability to learn and recall information, according to Phyllis Balch, a nutritional consultant from the American Association of Nutritional Consultants.
The evidence is palatable and so should be the Omega-3’s! The message is clear: the body cannot make the essential fatty acids that are optimal for supporting heart health and healthy brain cell function, among many other body functions.
The Essential Fatty Acids must come from the diet alone. So you’ve been left in charge of getting the Omega-3’s your body needs.
Feed your body the fat it needs with Forever Arctic-Sea® Super Omega-3. Your brain and your heart are depending on YOU!
